Kris Wood
Early days on the green!
My love affair with golf began at the tender age of 11, sparked by my good friend Paul S. infectious enthusiasm for the game. Who knew back then that it would blossom into such a deep passion?
For a while, golf took a backseat to the adrenaline rush of high school hockey. But then, the culinary world beckoned, and I found myself drawn to the artistry of food. I even landed the coveted role of executive sous chef at King Valley, the prestigious club links course in King City.
One fateful day, with a chip and a putt, I was hooked all over again. Fast forward 15 years. I was living comfortably in Airdrie, Alberta, consistently shooting low 80’s on the course. Then came a new neighbor – a rough-around-the-edges character named Kyle who boasted about his past golfing glory, even a hole-in-one! (Yeah, right, I thought.)
Well, that's how the Kyle Conrad and Kris Woods entertainment history began. Kyle, a complete beginner (think 22-24 handicap), dove headfirst into the game. It consumed him – shoes, irons, drivers, even a mini driver, he had it all! Being neighbors, there were countless nights spent tinkering in the garage or sharing laughs on the back deck, often fueled by friendly competition.
Kyle's competitive spirit burned bright, and soon, money games became the norm. His signature challenge: "Even on your best day, and my worst day! You’ll never beat me” Famous last words.
Life throws curveballs, and mine came in the form of two daughters. My handicap ballooned from a respectable 6.8 to a not-so-impressive 18 over the next five years. Meanwhile, Kyle was consistently shooting in the 70s!
Through it all, our passion for the game never wavered. We experienced the highs and lows, the countless lessons, the unwavering competitiveness – all of which culminated in a one-of-a-kind YouTube channel: NoMullys.

Kyle Conrad
Kyle hails from Ontario, but the prairies of Saskatchewan and Alberta became his stomping grounds growing up. Golf was practically in his blood – he swung a club before he could even walk, thanks to his grandparents. However, moving to Alberta at 17 marked a shift. At 18, he traded his clubs for a different kind of iron, taking a job in the oil fields. Cars became his new passion for a while.
Then came Woody, his neighbor at 24. Woody possessed an infectious enthusiasm for golf, and Kyle found himself constantly invited to hit the links. Eventually, he couldn't resist the lure of the fairway any longer, and so began his golfing comeback – albeit with a respectable 20+ handicap.
As their time together on the course grew, so did their friendship. The fun they had was undeniable, and that's when the idea struck: why not capture their golfing antics on film? And that's how this whole thing began.
